Trip To Disney Headquarters in London

Fairy Godmother

GamesAid and Disney teamed up to raise awareness of this brilliant charity with a special screening of Into The Woods. I was so excited to get an invite as I really, really, really wanted to see this movie, and to watch it at Disney's UK headquarters in London - could there be a better place to watch a Disney film?!  I went with my sister and we filmed a vlog for our YouTube channel; this has got lots of behind the scenes sneak peaks, and more about GamesAid - take a look see.

A huge Mickey statue greets you in reception, and the banisters running along staircases have Mickey motifs. It's pretty much Mickey Mouse central. We were taken to a hospitality lounge and given yummy brownies and a mighty selection of drinks. No prosecco, sadly, so I lingered over the beer/cider bowl....

Before the film started we got to walk round and look at all the Disney treasures on display which included a big metal bust of Walt, a wide variety of photos of Walt casually hanging with Mickey, posters of all the Disney films old and new (their most recent is Cinderella - the Fairy Godmother is in my first photo), an assortment of knick-knacks, and some beautiful illustrations - including the original costume designs for Mary Poppins. Awwww!

There were also Marvel items of course, and a nice man from Disney, who was hosting the event, took us to the 'Marvel' room. At their offices each meeting room has a different theme based on either a particular film or set of films, hence Marvel in general. Unfortunately he could only show us this room, but it made me so jealous of the people that get to work there amidst things like amazing Art Deco Thor posters and a life-size Spiderman climbing down a wall.

It would probably be really cool to work for Disney in general, even if the office were some kind of prefab on a building site (its pretty far from being that). After drinks and exploring (and rating all the Disney films out of ten) we went through to their screening room - you can see all this on the vlog. The film is just so blumming brilliant, hilarious and has fab songs. The soundtrack has been played on constant loop at my place ever since. The Disney sets and costumes are lush of course, and it's all very magical - Meryl Streep knocks it out of the park. I hope she wins the Oscar! Thanks GamesAid and Disney for such a fun event and an amazing film.

Have you seen Into The Woods yet? Let me know in the comments what you thought of it (no spoilers though!) x
