Mabel's Bar & Kitchen Covent Garden and Giveaway!
Mabel's Bar & Kitchen just opened last week in Covent Garden, and they asked me if I'd like to try it out. I took along Angela and we spent a chilled out afternoon sampling the lunch menu, and marvelling at the beautiful colonial-themed design.
This really is a beautiful place, and this is only one of the restaurant's rooms (above). There's also a club downstairs where they'll be having regular 'house parties' with live music and food sampling. Mabel's serves brunch from 10am everyday (12pm on Sundays) and stays open past midnight. This could be my new favourite place for prosecco-fuelled dinners with the girls.
The food is just really delicious and unpretentious. The lunch menu gave us a choice of fresh salads, grilled sandwiches, and main dishes like this honey salmon salad (below). Yes, there were chips ordered (so good) but we also had kale - that balanced it out, right? The desserts were ambrosial! Chewy, warm chocolate brownies and mouthwatering fresh figs.
Mabel's is the perfect spot for an affordable lunch in super stylish surroundings whilst out shopping in Covent Garden, or an ideal post-theatre dinner place. It would be brilliant for food and cocktails with friends because you can just head downstairs to the club afterwards. The drinks are amazing by the way, I went for the Lavender Love (below with fresh lavender on top), a sweet heady mixture of citron vodka, pomegranate juice, white peach puree, and lavender syrup - it tasted amazing! You gotta love tall, strong cocktails.
