Simple Skincare Event

Less than two months ago I was in one of the Ham Yard Hotel's gorgeous apartments for the Clothes Show blogger breakfast, and last week I went back - this time for a soiree thrown by Simple Skincare. This is definitely one of London's coolest hotels and I would dearly love to live there forever. Check out the lounge (below), this is just the foyer, so you can imagine how nice the rooms are.

We were whisked to a stunning apartment - myself and fellow blogger Jasiminne, who was on fine form, even doing some rapping for us at one point. Unfortunately the apartment was reallllly dimly lit. Which is great for a serene atmosphere in which to discuss skincare issues with Simple, but not the best for taking photos. Here we are (below) getting to talk to an expert, look at Simple's whole range, and have macarons and champagne. All-round amazingness.

We were also given these teensy little Alice-in-Wonderland style Drink Me bottles of champagne. HOW cute! Plus meringue desserts. Oh my.

This stunning apartment had two floors connected by a spiral staircase, and no luxury cliche was left unturned; the lounge had a baby grand piano, and the marble bathroom had everyone wanting to take photos in there (props to Jasiminne who got in the bath - see top photo). In the kitchen we were treated to a craft session with fabulous artist Sophia Langmead and got to sit round a big table and make a piece of artwork in her style.

We had to choose a background with one of the skin problem causes that Simple's products aim to tackle: not enough sleep, too much sugar, sleeping in makeup, being run down, etc. Then we chose one of the retro lady pictures and got to decorate her as we liked before the whole collage was put together in a box frame to take home. This was so much fun! There was cloth material, shiny paper, colouring pens and glitter (yay!) to play with. I haven't sat down at a table with so many glue-sticks and pairs of scissors in ages.

I tried to do something a bit different with my lady, she was given pink hair, purple glitter, and black nails. But Jasiminne was taking hers to a whole other level; her lady hilariously ended up with eye bags and a fag hanging out of her mouth. Sophia was like, that's nice dear - in a bemused art teacher kind of way.

So much thought and effort had gone in to decorating the apartment, it was beautiful! The bedroom was set up like a typical girl's room; candles lit and Simple products next to the bed. Jasiminne of course couldn't resist making herself right at home.

I had a great time, met some lovely beauty bloggers, and got re-acquainted with this brand. I'll admit I haven't used Simple in ages, though I don't know why. I'm often drawn by the lure of high-end brands and fancy packaging, but Simple is (clue's in the brand name) about stripping that back, not being elaborate, perfumed or coloured - just kind. We left with huge bags of products (and our art work of course), and I've already started using some of the range. I'm so impressed with how soft the light moisturiser makes my face, and I'll be writing up a review of everything I got real soon. We were also treated to some delicious handmade cookies from Biscuiteers, which I enjoyed the next day with a cup of green tea. Thank you Simple, hats off to a brilliant event - helpful, fun, and fancy in equal measures. Check out Simple's YouTube channel, where top bloggers like Zoella are offering their skincare advice. If you've tried Simple recently, or have any skincare tips, let me know in the comments below.
