Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Palette

Kat Von D's Shade + Light palette has become a bit of a classic, and the glimmer version is supposed to be it's sassy shimmery sister - same shades, more sparkle. Which I am all over, and after Kylie's drier than the desert shadows, these were pleasingly creamy, with smooth glitters that last a bit longer on the lids.  I've got to say, I'm loving Kat Von D right now. I should do a post on my favourite things from her range, including the liquid eyeliner, which is the best of all time. This palette might not be the most original, but it's just so reliably consistent in quality, and is also good value for money. You get nine eyeshadows and three 'contour' shades to shape the eyes, including a pale cream for under the eyebrow bone that didn't show up when I swatched it, plus two crease colours including the phenomenal Dusk. I will probably also wear this as an all-over lid shade, it's such a beautiful wet-look taupe, I love it. Sterling is a pretty silver glitter that could be layered over darker colours, and Cinder is a deeply creamy grey-brown that I cannot get enough of. I'd like Onyx and Jasper to be a bit more glittery, they've played it too safe with those. I like how the palette is arranged to help you nail three different eye looks, but you can mix everything up and use it as you want. I know a lot of beauty bloggers have said this isn't as good as the original Shade + Light, and you probably wouldn't need both, but I'm glad to have the glimmer version, I'm here for the shine and sparkle.  Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer is available at Debenhams for £37
