Chanel Joues Contraste Blush

Chanel Jersey Blush

When people ask me if high-end makeup is really worth buying I have a list of products from particular brands that are unequivocally worth paying out for. Be it a life-changing hair mask or a highlighter that will make you look several years younger, there are miracle luxury products that are totally worth it (I must do a post on these!). One of my fave blushers is Chanel's Joues Contraste, it stays put to your cheeks, and gives an immense youthful radiance. It's so highly pigmented that you can build it up from a simple wash of colour to a beautiful deep glow. I love the pinks, especially Rose Initial, a healthy "been out walking" glow, and Pink Explosion - a cute candy-pink flush. My ultimate favourite has to be Jersey (above) which I think has sadly been discontinued. I might be wrong, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I'd describe this as a pink-beige. It's almost bordering on a pale bronzer, if that makes sense, and is so good for adding a sheen of sun-kissed colour to my pale skin, with NO hint of bronzer orange! Maybe it's too close to Chanel's new Les Beiges products, which work in a similar way.

If you're in the market for a new blusher I'd really recommend Joues Contraste, and if you have time  - go to a Chanel counter and try different ones. I find that they can be quite different to blushers with similar looking colours from other brands, so what's rose for MAC might be a bit different on you with Chanel. Plus it's nice to chat with Chanel staff and have your makeup done, but that's just what I like... Leave me a comment and let me know if you have any of these, or if you're going to try them! x
