Cred Jewellery Event At LoungeLover
I was so pleased to be invited by lovely blogger Lucy J Loves to a PR event she had arranged for Cred Jewellery at the gorgeous LoungeLover bar in Shoreditch. How pretty is this bar! We were welcomed in just before it opened and given first class service from the get-go.
They gave us our own private area, which was also a cage. But a nice cage, the ideal one for bloggers, really, with cute furnishings, flowers and sparkles everywhere.
Lucy had assembled a range of fun and chatty bloggers, including Emma from Back Of The Wardrobe, Caroline from Sparkles and Crumbs (whose weekly podcast is fabulous!), and the totally cute Stephanie from BlogBranch, who is an amazing fount of knowledge on all things blogging. I learnt so much from chatting to her!
We were joined by the lovely ladies in charge of Cred Jewellery's PR, Ellie and Milly, who immediately got on board with ordering cocktails and joining in the chat. They were fine with a group of bloggers constantly taking photos, tapping away on their devices, and posing with all the gorgeous jewellery they had brought for us to to look at.
It was quite dark in there, so my photos can't do justice to the lovely delicate pieces - you can take a better look on the website. My favourite piece is this anchor necklace. The ladies told us that Cred pioneered ethical jewellery in this country; before them there was no such thing as fairtrade jewellery in the UK, which is astounding! All their pieces are certified 100% fairtrade and are made from ethically mined metals and gems, from people paid a fair wage. I don't often think about where my jewellery comes from, especially as I'm not likely to buy expensive Elizabeth-Taylor style diamonds and the like, but I've never considered that reasonably-priced metal accessories may have found their way into high street stores through very unethical processes. I am definitely going to be reguarly browsing through Cred's collection and feeling relieved that anything I like is going to be made in happier circumstances.
Big thanks to Lucy for a fab event! I loved the cocktails (I recommend a night of passion; bourbon with caramel liqueur, yum!), the company, and the resplendent jewels. We were given an immense goody bag that weighed a ton - poor Lucy, lugging these to the event! All was revealed inside - two bottles of Funkin cocktail mix, plus Vita Coco, Popchips, Lindt bunnies, Teapigs tea bags, a make-up bag, a notebook and pen, Miso Tasty miso soup, and L'Oreal conditioner, all in a Beyond Retro bag.
