St Mary Abbots Church, Kensington

The beautiful parish church St Mary Abbots in High Street Kensington is such a gem. Amongst the chain stores and coffee shops sits this elegant Victorian beauty. There's been a church on this site since medieval times, but this Neo-Gothic building went up in 1872. It has special meaning to me as my grandparents got married here in the 1930's.

Beatrix Potter also got married here (exactly a hundred years ago this month). It's a wonderfully romantic church, and I love imagining them arriving through these doors and walking down the aisle. If you're shopping in this area, pop in for a look-see.
